Number of Years in Education	5 years as administrative assistant & then one year as part-time Business Ed. Teacher at Lawrence/Nelson Jr. – Sr. High School; 1^st Year as Full-Time Business Ed. Teacher is this year at Silver Lake.

Philosophy of Education	Each child has the right to learn & should be given the best opportunity available to do so. Working with juveniles through the legal system is why I am teaching today. I wanted to take on a more pro-active role to educating students, instead of a reactive one. I am new to the field of education, and am willing to teach the students, as well as learn from the students and with the students. I think the most important part of education is not about the teacher – but about the learner – and that’s why I am here!
Personal Information	I live in Nora, NE with my husband and four children, ranging in age from 3 years to 11 years. I was raised in the Sandhills, and worked through college & after college in law offices, dealing with children in the juvenile system and those going through custody battles, both in the Lincoln and Hastings areas. I graduated from a very small high school, and had some excellent teachers and one-to-one education. I think this makes a huge difference in education – and Silver Lake is implementing this philosophy with their one-to-one technology education. I’m very excited to be a part of that!
